VW Media Device Interface MDI

Volkswagen Multi Device Interface lets you listen to your own music while you're on the move. It offers you a fast and easy link to files on your MP3 player, iPod and USB memory stick. It's so easy to connect a compatible device to the radio system via a universal port, using the adapter cable for USB or iPod connector. Just plug in and enjoy. The port also supplies a 5-volt charging current for iPods.

Overview

The Media Device Interface (MDI) offers support for USB devices (memory sticks and hard drives), iPod integration and Aux In along with displaying ID3 tags over the CAN bus to the MFD and the RCD310, RCD510 and RNS510 headunit. You can navigate folders or menus simply via the sound system, with the track playing shown on your radio or radio-navigation display. The Multi-Device Interface lets you choose a great soundtrack to match your new Volkswagen's great drive. You can choose a personal soundtrack to your drive with the Multi Device Interface.
