Audi music interface AMI

The Audi Music Interface (AMI) for RNS-E Navigation systems integrates with the car's speaker system, Driver Information System (where present) and RNS-E Interface allowing the driver to control a connected iPod using the vehicle's built-in controls. The interface allows complete control of an iPod, displaying track names, albums, playlists and track duration on the dashboard mounted Navigation display.

Overview

Thousands of songs available at your fingertips: the Audi music interface integrates portable media players into the Audi RNS-E Navigation. You can select artists, albums, tracks or genres with the RNS-E controls or the multifunction steering wheel. The system is capable of communicating with a wide range of portable media players and USB storage media.

Using selection criteria such as artists, albums, tracks or genres, it is thus possible to navigate easily through the entire music collection on the storage medium with the RNS-E controls and the multifunction steering wheel. Your media player remains stowed away in the glove box during the journey, and is connected to the Audi music interface by a cable from Audi Genuine Accessories®. This cable not only transmits the track information and music to the Audi music interface, but also recharges your media player at the same time.
